The I-Book is the University’s official planner given to all of the students. This was a very involved process that involved many different phases of design work and meeting with clients that took place throughout the 2018-2019 school year.

Cover Design

At the beginning, I was given the project brief for this. I was given the goal to come up a “collegiate design that is also trendy”. I had worked on 3 different directions of what I felt accomplished the goal that I then showed to the client’s board and they met together to pick one to go with.

Once the clients had chosen a direction, I finalized my design and also created a back cover to go along with the front. With the design obviously using the school’s official orange and blue, I had also included different orange and blues that I felt went with the colors.

Monthly Spreads

Once a cover was selected by the client, my next step was the interior pages. I first worked on the monthly splash pages that gave an overview of the major dates in the month. The key factor that I had to consider when creating these was to select images that showed off the university in a positive way,

Interior Spreads

Once the monthly splash pages were finalized, I had to make the interior calendar pages that a planner has. Every month gets an overview spread at the beginning of the month and it is followed by a weekly spread to keep track of daily notes. I also had to choose images to go in every filler space.
